Mountain bike racing means, well, racing in the mountains, where the weather doesn’t always cooperate. Courses may change to accommodate unsafe weather or trail conditions. We’ll do our best to keep the website updated with any changes to the course or start times, but reserve the right to make changes without warning.

Aid Stations

The Western Montana Trail Series takes pride in offering the best on-course support around. 55 miles is a long way to ride a bike, and we've got your back with three fully stocked aid stations along the course (2 on the 35mi course and 1 on the 22mi course). Each aid station is equipped with water, Clif products, and a huge selection of snacks that we think sound delicious. Have your own specific needs? No problem - we're happy to bring a drop bag to the halfway point on the 55 mile course.

For the Kids

If everyone is racing, who's watching the kids? The good people at the MORE Program (Missoula Outdoor Recreation and Education) have stepped up to offer bicycle and adventure programs for children during all of the races this summer. They'll have folks on staff to keep an eye on the kiddos (ages 2 and up!) while you're doing the race thing. A suggested donation of $5 per child covers their overhead, and proceeds go to supporting the Seeley Lake Elementary Outdoor Program.

Feel free to get in touch with Meg Whicher at Parks and Rec with any questions: mwhicher@ci.missoula.mt.us

In Seeley Lake the MORE Kids' program will be held at the race camping venue, a mile or so south of Seeley Lake. This will also be a great place to park and ride to the start; parking will be tight in town!

Be Bear Aware

It's no secret that the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex is home to the most robust grizzly bear population in the lower 48. We think that that's what makes this place so special, but please read up on a few tips for safe riding in bear country!
