Clinics/Beginner Events

Whether you’re looking to finish your first mountain bike race, gain an edge over 55 miles in Seeley Lake, or want to learn a few technical pointers from the pros, we’ve got you covered.

Beginner Events

We try to offer a little something for everyone. A beginner can jump into any of the Western Montana Trail Series races, but not every race in the best fit for a new rider. If you’re nervous about signing up for your first mountain bike event, check out these beginner focused events!

  • Wednesday Night #1 on Mount Jumbo – This is the first Wednesday night race of the series. The more experienced racers will be on a course that suits their fancy, but we’ve got a special course for first timers and folks who are new to racing. It avoids technical riding and is a great place to see how a mountain bike race feels.
  • Philipsburg 46 – This event is a point to point, and is on the longer side of things, but it’s a beautiful course and doesn’t have anything too nasty as far as technical riding goes. The course is about 60% dirt roads and features some of the most beautiful and smooth singletrack around!
  • Seeley Lake 55/35/22 – This is our most beginner friendly event. Come check out a course that’s mostly forest roads but features the most beautiful riding on the iconic Tour Divide route. We’re teaming up with the first ever Bob Marshall Music Festival, so plan on sticking around for the weekend.
